There is no single way to get people to switch to Google's wireless plan, Google Fi. But by building for platform, we brought the brand, and it's best offerings, to life across digital video and paid social.

When phone plan provider Google Fi Wireless launched a new, boldly graphic brand identity in 2023, they turned to long-time partner, Newfangled Studios, to tackle the task of translating their colorful, essential new look to the DR space and filling up the bottom of the funnel. We brought the branded shapes to life with motion, composition and clever hints of storytelling, while always delivering clear messaging and impactful best practices we knew would drive response.

Creative That Clicks:

Within six months of the new campaign going into market, Google Fi Wireless reported a significant YOY increase in click-through-rate and engagement in terms of both the video ads and their static display units. With no changes in terms of media plan, pricing or positioning in that timespan, the entire lift was attributed to the creative changes and execution of the new brand look.

A First for Social-First Content

Leaning on our team’s social media expertise, Google Fi wanted to extend its campaign reach to Instagram and Facebook for the first time ever, but needed a completely new lo-fi concept to ensure relevance on these social platforms. Across both platforms, Newfangled Studios ended up delivering a total of 50 social-first assets, highlighted by creator-style Reels that used popular social techniques like green screen effects, direct-to-camera messaging, and native on-screen text.
